Tyler Sullivan, a 30-year-old Bristol man, was charged Thursday, May 25 with "violently" shaking his infant son to death, Daily Voice reported.
Now, well-wishers are collecting donations to allow the boy's mother Madisen Neidlein time and space to mourn.
W"e are asking for your support in helping Madisen out to get the proper time to grieve and be with the family she has," wrote organizer Grace Davis on a GoFundMe campaign.
In just 24 hours since its launch on Thursday, the effort has raised a staggering $7,500 of its $10,000 goal.
The money, Davis says, will allow Neidlein to take the necessary time from work and process the tragedy.
"Her whole life has been completely turned upside down and a small weight would be lifted off her shoulder if expenses were not another stress she has to worry about," she wrote.
Neidlein's son was only four months old when doctors at Lower Bucks Hospital pronounced him dead just after midnight on Thursday.
Medical staff at the hospital said the boy's injuries were "indicative of a battered child" — he suffered "contusions, bruising, and abrasions" throughout his body, the DA's Office wrote.
The child, a doctor noted, was already dead when he arrived at the hospital.
Investigators believe his father "violently shook" the boy at least two times on Wednesday, May 24, and "at least six additional times" in as many weeks.
Sullivan remains at a Bucks County lockup awaiting his preliminary hearing on June 7, according to court records.
